Money exchange

Chile's currency is the peso ($).

There are $500, $100, $50, $10, $5 and $1 coins in circulation and notes come in $20.000, $10.000, $5.000, $2.000 and $1.000 denominations.

All major credit cards are accepted: American Express, Diners, Master Card and Visa. Traveller cheques are usually taken at Money Exchange offices and Hotels.

During the last few months, the price of Americas dollars (USD) has fallen, with the exchange rate ranging from $510 to $535 for 1 US dollar. The Euro (€) ranges from $630 to $650 for 1 Euro.
